To make sure our journey together flows smoothly, here are the key agreements that protect our sessions and keep lessons respectful, safe, and enjoyable.
Payment & Cancellation
Sessions: Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule sessions. Less notice = full session fee due.
Illness & Late Arrivals
Feeling unwell? Please do not attend in-person sessions if you have coughs, sneezes, or flu-like symptoms. If that happens, Jenny will offer an online session at the same booking time as a kindness. If singing isn’t possible, there are other areas which can be focused on e.g. musicianship, artistry, technique, creative work.
Running late? Please drop Jenny a WhatsApp message. After 15 minutes without contact, the lesson is considered missed and the full fee applies. If you arrive late, the session will still finish at the scheduled time.
Communication
Best way to reach Jenny: WhatsApp during office hours (9am–5pm), please email outside of those times.
Acknowledgement: A simple “Received” when you’ve seen a message is always appreciated, even if you can’t reply properly until later.
Confidentiality
Sessions are confidential, except where disclosure is required by law or where there is serious risk of harm.
Please do not share or distribute lesson materials or recordings without Jenny’s prior written permission.
If sessions are recorded (by mutual agreement), your recordings are for your personal use only. At any time that you request a session to be recorded you will see a ‘recording’ message on screen if working via zoom. You will also be asked by zoom to confirm that you want the session to be recorded.
Confidentiality is mutual. Jenny will never share any images or footage of clients without their express permission.
Use of Technology
Lessons and communication may use Zoom, WhatsApp, email, text, Dropbox.
Clients are responsible for making themselves aware of the privacy policies and confidentiality terms of these services. Please let Jenny know in writing if it is preferred to not use any of these services.
Health & Wellbeing
Please let Jenny know about any relevant medical or psychological history before lessons begin, especially any previous or on-going vocal injuries or SLT/ENT referrals.
Jenny’s work is not a substitute for medical advice or therapy. Always follow professional medical guidance where relevant.
Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, and for any actions they take as a result of any work or teaching.
Jenny cannot guarantee any specific outcomes of performance, auditions, career. Client progress depends on many things including ability, practice and engagement amongst many other variables.
Liability
Like any physical activity, singing and vocal training carry natural risks. Clients participate at their own risk. The Vocal Artist Studio will not be liable for injuries or losses arising from participation.
Voice science is continually evolving. Jenny is committed to ongoing study and expanding her knowledge but it is not possible for her teaching to always reflect the very latest research. Jenny shares her expertise in good faith and with professional care.

Singing must feel comfortable. Clients must always listen to their body’s feedback and make that explicit to their teacher/coach. Jenny is only able to work with clients who can take that responsibility.

Ending Our Work Together
Client or teacher may end lessons at any time, provided all outstanding payments are settled.
Fees are non-refundable.
